Lessons from Ammamma’s Kitchen

Each afternoon, the sisters watched wide-eyed as their grandmother:

  • Hand-picked the freshest produce—sun-ripened tomatoes, tangy gongura leaves, and tart raw mangoes—from her backyard garden.

  • Measured spices by instinct, teaching them that the right balance of red chilli, fenugreek, and tamarind transforms good food into unforgettable pickles.
